Women gathering to share wisdom, stories, pamper each other and heal is an ancient practice we are needing more and more of as demands from the modern world tend to pull us in opposite directions.
Recently a new friend has been brought in my life who has experience in hosting Red Tents, among other modalities she practices.
Red Tents
I first heard of red tents when I began learning about the Bible and the various ancient practices, traditions and laws it teaches.
A place where women would gather on their monthly cycles. We know now that the more we spend time together, and the healthier our womb is, the more our cycles tend to flow during similar times and around the new moon. Because of this, women would be able to come together around the same time each month and partake in the giving and receiving.
What happens in red tent?
Every red tent is different and can consist of one or more of the following:
·herbal baths
·washing of feet
·massage
·story telling
·prayer
·meditation
· herbal medicine
· Teas
· and any other healing modality the women have to offer.
Our first Womb Circle
We started off with sharing dinner. Ideally each women brings a dish to share.
· it turned out to be a great ice breaker. We were able to meet and becom acquainted. A womans circle can be so intimate !

We then segwayed into our circle. We began with introductions of course. Jalila also introduced the purpose and intention of our womb circle.
Since Jalila and I were hosting, we each chose a healing practice we would offer to the circle.
Jalila chose to guide us how to create crystal grid.

We had some tea together. And then it was time for what I chose to offer- a short but powerful Closing of the Bones ceremony.
·because we were all working together I was not able to take photos of this portion. I am working on another post about this workshop/training I attended where you can see and learn more about this healing massage and ceremony.
More to Come
