Why I pray- written by Rose, Loopingly Made blogger! She has guest posted on our blog before and we’re pleased to share her thoughts on prayer!
WHY I PRAY
Prayer is a religious act of communication with a revered being, and A lot of people pray, in different ways, to different sources, for different reasons. I’m sharing why I pray and to whom I pray.
-I Believe God exists
Scripture says those who come to God must believe that He is, and that He rewards those who diligently seek Him. This is the most important reason I pray. I mean, can you imagine just saying words of prayer and you don’t know to whom you’re saying those words? God exists and He rules and reigns in the affairs of men. Even when it seems like He isn’t. Remember, He created the whole universe! He is Almighty, the Most High God!
– I Believe in the name of Christ
Truly, there have been many experiences in my life that has proven to me time and again how wonderful, powerful, beautiful, highly exalted the name of Christ is. I have also seen how praying His name has set people free from years of bondage. I don’t have to see Him to believe. He tells us “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:14
-I Need Help
I don’t know about you, but I need help every. single. day.
I need help to be who God has called me to be.
I need help to raise our children in His way
I need help to remain unblemished from the world
I need help as I go about my daily chores.
I need God’s help every single way I can get it
-It Gives Me Peace
One of my absolute favorite verse in the scriptures is Philippians 4:6. It says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and mind through Christ”.
Honestly, this has been a very poignant verse for me. Whenever I pray, no matter what situation I’m in at the time or what requests I’ve made, knowing that God’s got my back always puts my mind at ease.
-I Actually Expect Answers
Prayer isn’t just some religious things I do, it is my routine for consistent fellowship and relationship with my Heavenly Father. It just is something I NEED to do. And I actually expect to get answers to requests I’ve made. Otherwise, why bother praying to an entity and not expect anything? I mean, what’s the purpose of praying, making requests known if you don’t expect to get answers?
And so far, God has not disappointed me. Though it hasn’t always come when I wanted it to come, answers have always come.
So, do you pray? Do you even believe in praying? Why do you pray?
GOD Cares!
This is a great post and reminder of God’s faithfulness! Prayer is talking with God–not to Him. ? Thanks for the follow!
Exactly Emily, with Him indeed!
Great reasons here. Similar to mine. Plus, God is my Father, Best Friend and much more. Cannot not talk to Him! And it’s always a pleasure to do so.
Ah yes agreeee, amen!
