Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread: Creating Family Traditions

Celebrate the biblical feasts, especially Passover, feels like we are communing with the Heavenlies

Enjoy your Passover celebrations!

The Most High has taken us out of the world Spiritually. He has shown us His way and it is lovely and real and filled with Truth. On this road since turning from atheism to Christian, we have learned so much and want to share it with you as well.

This is why we are in Joy celebrating His feasts as He has marked them for us to follow forever. We cannot keep them as they were first given, but we can surely celebrate them in remembrance of Christ Yashaya (my Saviour).

We have been moving around the world and have left behind our fellowship, our Gathering, they are with us in Spirit and through social media, as we celebrate this feast.

Remember and celebrate the Holy Days

May you be blessed during these Holy Days. Remember the Passover, the feast of unleavened bread, looking to counting towards Penetecost. May your Sabbaths be restful! Remember the love towards us to celebrate the Passover with joy and repentance indeed. We calculate this is being the correct time, by seeing when the equal parts day and night is in Jerusalem which then marks the first day of the year. This calculation is according to the Enoch Calendar. See this post for more on that.

Things we enjoy during Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread:

  • Preparation week: Leading up to Passover we retell different parts of the Exodus Story, Christ and His sacrifice for us and other stories to our children. We have found a few activity books about the Spring Feast they quite enjoy as well.
–During this time I am cleaning up our home, decluttering and cleaning out the leaven. The leaven in my home and mostly my spirit!
  • Unleavened Bread: This is their favorite part of preparing for the feasts…the food! I involve them as much as possible in preparing the dough for the bread. This is also a great time to tell them why we don’t eat leaven, both the biblical story and the examples of what leaven means in a spiritual sense too.
  • Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoon olive oil
  • Mix the flour and salt and slowly mix in the water and oil.
  • Knead with your hands until the dough is smooth.
  • Add more water if needed but dough shouldn’t be sticky.
  • After the dough rests for 10-20 minutes divide it into smaller pieces 8-12, depending how small you want them. My children like them on the small side.
  • Roll them as thin as you can without breaking them.
  • Cook on medium heat until brown spots on each side. (if they don’t get air bubbles they might be too thick)
  • Enjoy!
  • Communion and Food: We do a small, quaint version of the Last Supper, my husband and I read the scripture and break bread and sip a bit of wine. We will prepare on Friday before the Sabbath alllll the food inlcuding grilled lamb and bitter herbs.
  • Week of: All throughout the week, 7 days, we will be eating unleavened bread and take time to retell the stories and give thanks for what Christ did for us. Our hope is that our children will learn the things at a young age that we learned as adults.
