I never had an ear infection my whole life! Over 40 years no problems. Then recently a cough, a respiratory infection lingered on for over 4 weeks, spread to my ear. One day after coming out of the ocean my ear was plugged up and I thought it was because I had water in my ear. After a few days it was still plugged up and I had flashes of dull pain and slight pressure.
The professional opinions
It lasted a few more days after that just about a full week and did not go away. So I decided to go and see a doctor, then referred to a specialist. Both told me the same thing – ear infection.
And both gave a prescription of antibiotics and some other drugs. Which I did not take. I went to see the doctor for the professional opinion. The first doctor told me it was not so bad. Then a few days later the specialist told me it was nasty. I had put garlic oil in my ear that same day so I am sure it was all oily and gross looking.
Garlic Oil
Garlic Oil: After this time the most High had revealed to me what to do. So I still had this garlic oil that I made by chopping some garlic in some coconut oil and letting it warm on low for about 30-45 min on the stove. My wife would help me drop 2-4 drops into my ear a few times a day.
Cotton Ball trick: So I put a few drops of garlic oil in a dish and added:
-1 drop of oregano oil
– 1 drop of tea tree oil
– and 1 drop of eucalyptus oil
– then I dipped a cotton ball in the oil and mixed it
-and drew it all up in the cotton.
-Then I tore the cotton ball in half and put it in my ear early in the morning before I went to work.

A few hours later at work I started feeling some kind of liquid draining down out of my ear and after some time it started itching. I might have used too much EO. But none the less I left the cotton in my ear and by the next day my plugged ear was now clear and I could hear just fine. I would change the cotton ball once or twice a day and I would make sure to leave it in while I was sleeping. Also, I would take it out for a few hours sometimes just to give it some air.
Another thing the doctor told me was not to get water in the ear because keeping it dry helps the healing process as well too.
Death by Fumes
The most amazing part for me was the realization that what actually killed this issue was fumes. Essential oils are not supposed to be placed in the ear at all because they can be detrimental to your hearing via the ear drum. However, in this case, by using the cotton ball only in the outer ear it creates a seal and a tight compartment where the fumes scrape the infection like paint coming off the walls of a treated wall.
It just goes to show the power of Essential oils and the chemicals provided to us through nature and plants.
So that’s it, ear’s all better, and no medicine! All oils!
