FEVER:
Last week Jasmin started teething, she’s 5 months now, 22 weeks to be exact. I noticed because she was rubbing her gums on everything and getting super cranky and bothered, more than normal that is. I also noticed her gums were swollen :/ So I wasn’t surprised when she got a fever. I got to be honest, though, I did freak out for a second!
We were at my moms when her fever started. My mom reminded me that fevers are a good sign and to just put a damp cloth on her head, the obvious. But this was a new mommy experience so I was grateful to be reminded of the obvious!
It happened late and Mr. P was already sleeping. So when I got home I looked up my most trusted sources and checked around the house to see what I had that might help her. We showered, nursed, and put a wet cloth on her head as well as coconut oil on the bottom of her feet, we had to do with what was available.

The fever only lasted that night praise God Almighty! We prayed so much for her! While she had the fever he energy level was a bit lower but she was still smiley happy baby. Poor thing, she even slept in til 12:45! Couldn’t believe it! But she woke up, nursed, showered, and her temp was almost normal. By the end of the day she was doing just fine! Praises to our Father in Heaven!
Cough:
A couple days later we started noticing her cough slightly in her sleep. Then one night it got worse and started waking her up from her sleep! She would scream she was so mad at her cough waking her up from her sleep, poor thing! It was a dry cough so we figured it might be due to the dryness of the air. It’s been pretty chilly and dry for Miami weather these days. So Mr. P put water to boil and more coconut oil on her feet. We prayed over her and put our trust in the Lord once again. Her cough lasted 2 days. She has slight coughs now and then but thankfully she’s been sleeping well! We did stock up on some eucalyptus for next time, though we didn’t use it for now.
I’ve been a little stuffy nosed and congested. Drank some eucalyptus/chamomile tea, a glass of freshly squeezed OJ (yummm) and lots of love, thank you Mr. P! He’s our house medicine man and loving daddy and husband!
Jeremiah 17:14 – Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou [art] my praise.
