We are here for you! There are many Blossom and Berry Baby Massage and Baby Yoga teachers shifting to online. First things first: Use the information available to you. Find a teacher near you or online. If finances is an issue always communicate that to the teacher because more often than not they will do what they can to help you out.
These steps work without a teacher too! As with anything it is easier and you have more accountability if you book a session BUT don’t let that keep you from bonding with your baby.
It’s so important to me that I’m offering this sneak peek at baby feet massage strokes you can follow
Before we begin follow these steps:
1-Set aside a time just for you and baby
When you’re a new mom or have other children or responsibilities, life takes over and setting apart a time can feel unnatural.
For you mamas who already have time then great go up the next step.
Mamas, create a 15-30minute time in the day you can focus just on you and baby, no distractions. I say 30minutes in case you need more setup time plus a bit to get in the space and let all the stress roll of your shoulders. Which leads me up step 2.
2-Setup your space
Space is so important but again don’t let this be the excuse to keep putting off setting up this time.
Have you heard of “scattered space, scattered mind”? Well this is true of your space and emotions. When you are setting up the space you don’t want it to become a distraction Nd get stressed out.
Example: you’re practicing being present with your baby and see the laundry pile and get stressed thinking you need to hurry and finish the laundry.
Ideas to setup your space: turn off the volume on all devices, turn off screens in the room you’re in, have some light ambience on, turn on a diffuser with a light aroma like a citrus, remove messes or reminders of to-do list.
These are just ideas, again, start where ever you are at!
3-Massage oils
This is a simple step so please don’t overthink it. I purchase kids oils that are already diluted for babies from the Seedlings line from Young Living or Kidscents for toddlers.
These essential oils are already diluted but you can dilute even more if you wish but my fave is the Seedlings Baby Oil. DILUTION INFO HERE
Blossom and Berry suggests sunflower oil as a Simple massage oil. So start there!
Dry massage is possible as well!
4-Massage and bonding
Watch the video first on your own, then watch it and follow along as you massage your baby. It’s ok if baby is not ready and prefers to be fed, or needs sleep, try again later.
Above all check in with your own energy. Are you ready for massage and bonding too?
5-Fun, Being Present, Breath
Make it fun, sing some fun baby rhymes, laugh with your baby and have fun with it! As long as you are loving and gently, you cannot go wrong!
