In no way shape or form am I saying by recommending these books that I am the perfect parent. Nor by recommending these 3 parenting books have I suddenly become the most perfect parent either!
I’m recommending these 3 parenting books because they have truly helped me. There are tips offered by these professionals that help me be nicer and find better solutions to dealing with my children other than yelling or time outs.
So here goes the 3 parenting books I recommend to help you in your every day parenting struggle. And if you don’t have a struggle I applaud you and forgive you for closing this page! But PLEASE if you are in the struggle too and have found helpful books or websites, please comment and share them with us.
1. Simplicity Parenting
I heard about this book back in 2012, when I was pregnant with Jasmin. Only now, well end of 2018, did I actually FINALLY get to read the book! I highly recommend this book for parents who really need to learn to simplify their lives and parenting skills.
Upon reading it I realized we had pretty much got the Simplicity part down. Patly because my husband and I are all about keeping things simple and minimalist in our lives. Also partly because I worked at Waldorf and Montessori schools where these practices are pretty much every day life! Finally, we had these down packed because I am on the Simplicity Parenting email list and got as much tips from the newsletter as humanly possible!
2. Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids
Here we go! THIS IS THE BOOK I TOTALLY NEEDED! Out of the 3 which would I say to start with, yes start with this one! At least for me this is the book that really gave me practical ways to self reflect as a person and parent. In this self-relfection I can figure out whyyyy it’s so easy for me to resort to yelling, and how to make it equally as easy to STOP from yelling.
Ok maybe EASY is not the right word. Because I still do yell, but I have the tools I need to recollect and refocus and try again. My kiddos deserve a peaceful parent, even if it’s 80% of the day!
Checkout a previous post I wrote about how a specific technique in this book really helped me.
3. The Peaceful Mom
For Christian mommas! Yes the author April Cassidy who brought us the book Peaceful Wife and the suuuper helpful Peaceful Wife blog, has done it again! This book I highly recommend for Christian mommas. April Cassidy brings bible verses and practical applications to help us have joy and peace in this parenting life. So needed!
There you have it! My top 3 Parenting books!
Share in the comments books or sites that have helped you please!
