Summer sun calls for some amazing outdoor fun but we got to make sure to keep everyone’s skin safe.
If you’ve been keeping up with us for a bit, you’ll know that we’re living in the middle of the desert near Abu Dhabi, where the sun is scorching hot!
Well thankfully there are plenty of indoor activities! Or else our skin would definitely be hurting, our poor babies can’t handle it as well as some of us adults can.
Now we’re off to more tropical climates to enjoy the beaches of Sri Lanka, yay! So here I have concocted a cream to help protect our skin from the sun and keep it healthy!
What’s in our sun cream?
- Shea butter
- Coconut oil
- Essential oils: Lavender, Myrrh, Carrot Seed
After looking up many recipes we decided in this because of what we had available to us. Also we tried using only coconut oil, which worked really well in Miami and Panama but this Abu Dhabi rays need something stronger.
Since we’ll be in the pool and beaches of Sri Lanka we decided to make something we can all use, two adults a toddler and a baby.
Other recipes called for zinc oxide, I’m curious to use this so hopefully next time I’ll be able to add it, once were somewhere we can easily order it. Also people either didn’t use essential oils or chose others. So have fun, be creative and experiment to find what works best for your skin.
Enjoy your sunscreen and have a fun summer! God bless!!!
