My friend and fellow Oiler, Jillian Smith, and I recently gave a demonstration of a couple recipes starring raw cacao and essential oils.
Praise the Lord for how all of this came together so quick!
These recipes are slight variation of recipes found in David Wolfe and Shazzie’s Naked Chocolate.
RAW mint chocolate chip ICE CREAM
- 2 cups soaked cashews and macadamia nuts
- meat of 5 young thai coconuts and the water from 3
- 1/2 cup raw agave nectar
- 4-6 drops of Young Living Peppermint Vitality Oil
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- 1 tablespoon Spirulina
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh mint leaf
- 2-4 tablespoons raw cacao nibs
- 1/2 cup shelled raw Hemp seeds
- 1 cup raw pistachios
- 1 ripe avocado
Blend the coconut pulp and water in high-powered blender. Strain through fine mesh strainer
or nut milk bag.
Pour the coconut blend back into the blender.
Blend all ingredients, except raw cacao nibs and
peppermint oil in a high speed blender, like a Vitamix, until smoothe. Pour into separate bowl and stir in the peppermint oil and raw cacao nibs by hand. Chill in freezer, stir every hour or follow ice-cream makeraccording to instructions.
Raw Cacao Lemon Bar
- 1 1/2 cup Raw crushed cacao nibs
- 4-6 drops Young Living Lemon Vitality Essential Oil
- 1/2 cup Maca Powder
- 1 cup Soaked Cashew nuts
- 1 cup raw Agave nectar
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
Place all ingredientes except lemon essential oil into food processer. In a separate bowl add lemon essential oil to mixture. Now have fun placing into molds or even ice cubes. place in freezer until hard. Since its February, naturally, we used heart molds! Pop them out when ready and enjoy!
So why fuse essential oils and raw food?
This is what Tara Raybern from Young Living has to say about using essential oils in cooking, or “uncooking”!
People often ask me why they should use essential oils in recipes. My question is, “Why wouldn’t you?” We are exposed to massive amounts of toxins in our environment and foods each day. Even the integrity of seeds and farming practices are a challenge for our health. The amount of additives and preservatives in foods and beverages is also a burden to our bodies. So why not add something uplifting to your foods and beverages to support your health?
Using Young Living essential oils in recipes uplifts the aroma and flavor and supports our lives. I usually add essential oils to cold recipes or at the very end of preparation. Young Living takes great care to properly distill these oils, so heating them as little as possible makes sense. I also use essential oils in conjunction with herbs and other fresh ingredients. The result is a fabulous marriage of taste and health-supporting meals, beverages, and delicious snacks!
To this I add that all these benefits are especially true when adding Essential OIls to RAW food!
