Aday of travel by plane and rest for the night. A day of travel by taxi, bus…and then another taxi.
You would think a toddler would be restless with all this sitting and no running and playing for long periods of time! Well, it was quite the opposite with this little girl!
Jas enjoyed running around the airport, sitting on the plane smiling so big at us, so excited! Happy she can control the windows, barely a care for the movie screens in the seat in front of her. Pleased with herself she can buckle her own seatbelt, and even happier to have her own seat. Not a care for the increasing pressure as we went up, up, up! Happy to go to the bathroom on the airplane, seeing all the people in their seats, passing babies and other children, waving hi.
Before the plane took off I rubbed Thieves essential oil on her feet and spine to help with the pressure and such. I suppose it worked! Here she is so happy and excited to be in the plane! And her daddy making silly faces hahaha.
Jas was excited to land in our final destination and excited to get off and stretch her legs, standing happily on the moving walkways, then jumping and running to the next one! Excited for a big flight of stairs to go up and down as we pass through immigration. Her eyes take in all the sounds and sights around her, asking “what’s this” again and again!
Their are perks to traveling with a child: skip some lines, one of the first on the plane, everyone’s happy to help since they see a baby and parents struggling juggling luggage and entertaining her. We saw a long line to get through immigration and sucked it up for the long wait…but then someone asked us if we’re traveling with Jas so we can skip to the citizens line! Thank you Lord!
Another cab ride, then check in to our nice air conditioned hotel, call our friends and family letting them know we arrived safe and sound. Then food and rest!
The trip the following day would be long. Thankfully a friend gifted us a bag of little trinkets to keep Jas distracted, though she needed none of it, they are coming in handy now when we’re stuck indoors. She was happy to sit on my lap, nurse, and nap. When she woke she traded from daddy’s lap to mine cuddling and sucking her thumb, looking out the window, now and then asking some questions. I thank the Lord for this gift because I don’t think the ride would have been as enjoyable had she been restless! Between my motion sickness and tailbone aching, it was enough trouble for me.
So we made it safely to our temporary home, or permanent home…for now!
We miss our friends and family! We miss what we were used to. Now we begin new routines, make new friends, learn new ways!
